TOPSOCCER Program at M.O.T. Soccer Club

TOPSoccer (The Outreach Program for Soccer) is a community based soccer program that is designed to meet the needs of children with physical and/ or mental disabilities. The program is geared toward player development rather than to competition. TOPSoccer players are grouped by ability not by age.

There are several benefits for children participating in a TOPSoccer program.

  • Your child will develop a sense of belonging to a community and will learn the value of being part of a team.
  • Improvement in self-esteem, fitness and social skills.
  • Success based on ability.
  • FUN!

MOT Soccer is proud to offer our second season of TOPSoccer this Spring. TOPS will kick off on opening day and run throughout the Spring season. Our format calls for the kids to meet and play each Saturday for 60 to 75 minutes. The first 45 minutes will consist of teaching three soccer skills to the players. After that players will be broke into teams and will play some small sided soccer matches for 30 minutes. At the end of the session, the players will huddle with their coaches and review what they have learned, talk about next week and give lots of "high fives". Our TOPS program will be coached by Rich, Nick and Adam, our MLS/ MetroStars coaches. They will be assisted each week by soccer players from our recreational and representative programs that will act as buddies to the TOPS players.

To volunteer to be a soccer buddy or to get more information about our TOPSoccer program, please contact Terri Sommer at TSOMN4@aol.com or 376-1196.
